Its rigidity is 100 times that of PVB, and it is 5 times tougher. This allows for thinner glass configurations under the same load or significantly higher wind-load resistance for the same thickness.
Even if both lites of tempered glass break, the superior mechanical properties of SGP can support the entire panel, keeping it "standing" rather than collapsing, which provides critical time for emergency evacuation.
